My myMail app became slower and some functions are missing. Is it possible to solve the problem?

There have been changes in the way myMail connects to email servers. Unfortunately, some app features may be unavailable or work slower.

Create a new email account with the domain @my.com. With this account, all the functions of the myMail app will be available to you at the usual speed.

  1. Open myMail.

  2. Go to → → “Create Email”.

  3. Fill out the form, check the box and tap “Sign Up”.

  4. Specify a phone number to link to the new account and tap “Request Code”.

  5. Enter the code from the SMS and tap “Done”.

Accounts with the domain @my.com can be used only in the myMail mobile app. This email doesn't have a web version, so you won't be able to work with it on your computer.

How do I get a my.com mailbox?

You can only register and use a name@my.com mailbox using one of the myMail mobile apps (for iOS or Android).
Install the app, launch it, and tap CREATE MY.COM MAILBOX.
If you're already using the app, open the folder list and tap the "Add" icon. On the screen that opens, tap CREATE MY.COM MAILBOX.

Please note the following when signing up for a mailbox:

  • The mailbox name must have at least 6 characters and no more than 32;
  • you can only register one mailbox for a phone number.

How is a my.com email account different than email accounts from other providers?

The most important difference is that My.Com Mail is the world's first entirely mobile email, created especially for people who keep up with the times, live in the "mobile age", can't imagine life without smartphones and tablets, value their time, and are used to always having access to their email.

Not only is My.Com Mail 100% mobile, it's also safe!

  • A unique code sent via SMS is used to sign in to your mailbox. That means you can't forget or lose your password, and criminals can't hack or steal it!
  • The mailbox is not accessible via IMAP or POP, i.e. criminals won't be able to get all your emails using these protocols.

Can I sign up for a my.com mailbox without a mobile phone?

No. You cannot sign up for a mailbox without providing a phone number. For security reasons, my.com does not have a permanent password. To sign in to your mailbox, you use a unique code that is newly generated each time and sent in an SMS message to the phone number provided during registration.
Please note that you can only register one mailbox for a phone number.

How many mailboxes can I get with one phone number?

You can only register one mailbox for each phone number? The code for signing in to the app will be sent to the phone number provided during registration.

Why isn't there a permanent password to sign in to my my.com mailbox?

This is for security reasons. Email accounts are most frequently hacked and stolen by guessing or in some other way getting the password. Because my.com uses a newly generated access code sent via SMS rather than a permanent password, criminals can never learn your password!

Can I use my my.com mailbox simultaneously from several devices, i.e. from my iPhone and iPad?

Yes, of course. You can use your mailbox from any device that has the myMail app installed on it. Install the app, get a code via SMS, enter it, and enjoy your my.com mailbox!

Please note that the SMS message with the access code will be sent specifically to the phone number that was provided during registration.

What should I do if I've lost access to my phone?

Contact your cellular service provider and ask to have your lost number restored.

How do I change the sender's name (avatar)?

At present, you can only change the personal information for mailboxes in the my.com domain.

To do so, go to the folder list by tapping on the "Menu" icon. Tap the "Settings" icon and select the "Name and avatar" section. Enter the new information on the settings page that opens.

How do I create a folder in my mailbox?

At present, you can only create folders in mailboxes in the my.com domain.

To do so, go to the folder list by tapping the "Menu" icon  image. Scroll down and tap the "Settings" icon image. Go to the "Folders" section.

Tap "Add Folder" on the page that opens. Enter the folder name and tap "Add".

Unfortunately, you cannot currently create folders in mailboxes from other email services, but we're working on adding this feature.

How do I rename a folder?

At present, you can only rename the folders you have created in your my.com mailbox.

To do so, go to the folder list by tapping the "Menu" icon image. Scroll down and tap the "Settings" icon image. Go to the "Folders" section.

On the page that opens, tap the name of the folder that you want to rename. Enter the new name and tap "Add".

Unfortunately, you cannot currently rename folders in mailboxes from other email services, but we're working on adding this feature.

How do I create a filter?

At present, you can only create filters for your my.com mailbox.

To do so, go to the folder list by tapping the "Menu" icon image. Scroll down and tap the "Settings" icon image. Go to the "Filters" section.

Tap "Add Filter" on the page that opens. In the "From" field enter the email address whose messages you want to filter, and in the "Move to" field indicate the folder into which you want the messages to be automatically moved.

What should I do if I suspect that somebody else is using my mailbox?

To sign out of your mailbox on all devices, go to the "Security" section of the app's settings and tap "Terminal All Sessions".
Please note that, in order to enhance your security, after connecting your mailbox to a new device you will be sent an SMS notification to the mobile phone used to register your mailbox and an email notification to your email address.

What will happen if  stop using my my.com mailbox?

After 190 days your mailbox will be blocked. You will stop receiving any messages sent to your email address. After another 190 days all of the information in your mailbox will be permanently deleted.
In order to unblock your mailbox and continue using it, all you have to do is sign in to it.

How do I mark a message as read/unread?

  • In the message list
    Slide across the message from right to left and tap the "Read" icon. 
  • On the message preview page
    Tap the "Unread" icon in the upper left corner of the screen.

How do I select several messages all at once?

To select all the messages in a folder, select one message by touching the sender's avatar. Then tap "Select All" in the upper left corner. 

How do I view all unread messages? How do I view all flagged messages?

To view all flagged or unread messages, go to the message list by tapping on the "Menu" icon in the upper left corner of the screen. Then tap "Flagged" or "Unread" under the folder list.

I accidentally denied access to my photos. What do I do now? How do I attach them to a message now?

To authorize the app to use your photos:

  1. Go to the "Settings" section of your iOS device;
  2. Select "Privacy";
  3. Go to the "Photos" section;
  4. Put the slider next to the myMail app in the "On" position.

Why does the app ask for access to my contacts?

Contacts are used for your convenience when composing a message:
  1. Autosuggestions are displayed when you type just a few letters of a recipient's name or email address;
  2. A list of contacts is displayed from which you can select the message's recipients.

How do I make myMail the default app for sending mail?

Unfortunately, this is not possible. It's a limitation of the Apple iOS operating system.

Enter your pin to launch the app.

This improvement is in our plans, but exact dates for its implementation are unknown.

How do I change the message list's appearance?

 Tap the "Menu" icon in the upper left corner of the screen, go to "Settings" at the bottom of the page, and select the "Appearance" section.

Note that these settings are not available in the iPad version.

How do I attach files from Dropbox, or other apps?

If the app supports opening files in another program, then tap "Open in" and select myMail from the list of programs.

How can I print a message?

The current version does not support this ability. We plan to add it in the future, but we can't give specific dates.

When I compose a message, contacts from my iPhone's address book do not appear in my contact list. What do I do?

Be sure that access to your contacts has been granted in your security settings: iOS Settings → Privacy → Contacts.

I have problems adding my Yahoo account, or sending and receiving messages. How can I fix this?

Due to a recent change in Yahoo security settings there might be problems with @yahoo.com accounts. If you use such a mailbox and encountered difficulties adding is to the application, or sending and receiving messages in it, go to «Account security» settings and switch “Allow apps that use less secure sign in” into the ON position.
